Fall is on the way! What better way to get into the fall mood than some D.I.Y art projects? Fall is not only for sports and bonfires, but there are also so many D.I.Y home projects we can do. I am a Pinterest enthusiast, so I have come across other creators who have amazingly simple ideas I have yet to try. Below are a few of my favorite, simple, and affordable project ideas that everyone can join in and make:

1. DIY Paint Scrape Abstract Art

Paint scraping is something new that I've never attempted before. It sounds pretty unique, right? It is also very easy to make and only requires a few materials!

Materials:

Canvas

Art knife

Acrylic paints

Gold leaf

Steps:

I. Start by selecting three complementary colors. Begin to add drops of paint to the canvas.

II. Take your art knife and blend the colors together.

III. Place gold leaf pieces on the canvas and begin to press them into various sections of the painting.

IV. Finally, your art piece is finished! You can easily hang up your painting with my favorite Command Strips for a damage-free decor essential.

2. Flower Jar Canvas Art

I love canvas art, so I'm always excited to see artists take canvas paintings to the next level. By next level, I mean 3-D! Take a look at this art piece by CanvasandMoreByAly on Etsy! This is such a cute idea and I love it because it can be personalized. This is one of my favorite art projects and I can't wait to experiment with 3-D art in the future!

Materials:

Canvas (any size)

Paint Pen

Artificial Flowers

Tacky Glue

Steps:

I. Start by drawing a ‘glass vase’ on your canvas with a paint pen.

II. Next, cut the stems off of your artificial flowers.

III. Arrange the flowers on your canvas.

IV. Use some tacky glue to attach the flowers to the canvas.

V. You’re finished! Your décor piece is ready to be displayed.

Have fun with this and make it your own!

This might look like a difficult project, but you would be surprised at how easy this is to do!

Materials:

12"x12"block of soft wood like pine

Wood paint or stain

Any pattern you want! (Pinterest is a great source to find your desired pattern)

A marker or pencil

A ruler

A hammer

The step-by-step guide to your string art project can be found on the Feels Like Home Blog!

4. 3-D Canvas Art

To reiterate, 3-D art is my new obsession! Wall art that pops will grab the attention of anyone who looks. It's beyond beautiful and a new way to endorse abstract art. Here's a project brought to you by LoveCreator on Etsy!

Geometric design ideas are trending! The best part is, a project like this is affordable and easy to make. With only a few required materials, you can turn your home into a modern space instantly!

Materials:

Glitter card (can use gold or the color of your choice) Foil card (can use gold or the color of your choice) Black and charcoal heavyweight paper or card Hexagon paper punch Tacky Craft Glue Stretched canvas (any size) Scissors

Steps:

I. First, cut out a stack of hexagons using the hexagon paper punch tool.

II. Secondly, arrange your hexagons on your canvas. Cut your hexagons in half for the edges of your canvas.

III. Finally, glue your hexagons on your canvas! Be sure to use glue on the edges of your hexagons to prevent them from peeling off.

Make this project your own! Use any complementary colors you would like on any size canvas; you could even make smaller canvas squares or a large stretched mural.
